Its been an eventful week, essay procrastination and lots of blogpost last week walk hand in hand. But I FINISHED my essay, which you probably will know if you've been keeping up with my tweets [man i tweet TOO much. im sorry im such a tweetwhore, please tell me if i am and i will try to restrain myself] LOL.

In other news, MY CAMERA DIED. i guess accidentally leaving in on all night effed the battery up- rechargeable is no longer rechargeable but dead. oops. But then again, im not a camera buff so if its not the battery, the actual camera is broken which is a big oops. But i'll need to put in an order for a new battery and try that [so expensive >=(] or i'll have to get a new one. So in a roundabout way, My posts will be not be picture spammed. But that also means, i cannot take pictures. and i loved that camera, whole heartedly. I'm so sad. Im on the brink of grief. =(

I went clubbing yesterday, [because of my camera- had to use photobooth=bad times] it was army themed.

1. I'm actually not a makeup guru at all. I'm more of a skincare girl. I value skincare products above makeup products hence why i don't own alot of MAC.
2. Im a Shiseido whore. I spend my life at their counter because the quite nice old counter lady with amazing skin is a darling.
3. I can never keep ANYTHING tidy. My makeup drawer is shameful
4. I love drinking canned coffee, even though it taste too sweet, too generic but its addictive and easy.
5. I prefer making one pot meals over massive dinners, hence why i love korean stews so much
6. I want to travel the world, preferably in the next ten years: the places i would drop and visit if i could would be: ROME, venice, Barcelona, Thailand, New Zealand, China again, New York, Washington DC, Boston, LA, sanfran, canada, malaysia, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea.
7. I full on own a chinese ninja knife cleaver thingy. and I have an unhealthy obsession with it because last time i used it, it diced up my onion so easily, it was a magical experiance

[FOOD] seabass salad recipe & smileys

My Parents send me silly emoticons like |-O in their texts.
What does this |-O emoticon mean anyways...haha. Im always so confused. Leave me a comment below if you know. =D

anyhoo. I made my seabass salad dinner last night. It's a really easy and healthy recipe. =D I love it. You can always replace the fish with meat if you don't eat fish. or use a different fish, like salmon.

recipe: serves 1

Ingredients:
1 seabass fillet [i get my mother to fillet it, you could go to the fishmongers]
salt and pepper
olive oil
Salad leaves [i used herb salad bags]
2 large tomatoes
quarter red onion
+ any other veggies you like to add
slice of lemon.

METHOD
1. Season fresh fish fillet with salt and pepper and coat with oil, place on foil and stick in preheated oven for 8-10 minutes
OR
1a: season and oil fish fillet and pan fry, skin side down, until 90% cooked, then flip to brown the top side for 30 seconds.

2. Chop up veggies for salad, and rinse salad leaves, toss together with lemon juice, salt and pepper.

place fish on top of salad. eat.

i also wanted to try rohto eyedrops. [did try them- first time= i thought my eyes died, but it feels so great to use now =D so minty fresh!] [I love minty fresh eyes- okay should shutup now]

M.A.C exfoliator REVIEW + HALLOWEEN costume+ nifty giveways

GIVEAWAY ALERT: NOTES FROM A TOOTH FAIRY

M.A.C limited edition items really do sell out fast, i was actually lucky enough to get one, although i had to get mine online because it all sold out in store. =/ Postage fees =(. Anyhoo it's a GREAT investment, the exfoliator, which is part of the style black collection is AMAZING.


Here is the content of the exfoliator- gloopy grainy goodness! It does have a smell, its not a great smell, but I'm not bothered by the smell much. it smells a bit like pumice stone.


When rubbed into the skin, you can feel the grains scrubbing away. This is good because i'm not getting jipped with just liquid and not much grains, as you do in some of the cheaper brands. =D


Pros
-ABSOLUTELY WORKS, my skin feels SO SO SOOO soft afterwards
-Not pricey, reasonable
-lots of grains- value for money
-a little product goes a long way
-not only face- use it as a body exfoliator

Cons
-its limited edition
-uh...nothing? =D

Ruby Tuesdays

The blog title has nothing do with anything in this post at all, apart from the fact that it's tuesday. It's actually a name of an indie night on campus. I just love the word. =D. So, we've established the fact that today is tuesday, yeah? [i should just shut up all together!]

Anyhoo, MY MAC style black volcanic ash exfoliator came through the post today, at uh, 7pm, yeah, that was kinda dodgy. I mean, who delivers packages at 7pm. Thats really creepy. I absolutely cannot wait to use it! =DDD



If you live in England, you will know how Mr. autumn has decided to skip this year out. It's fucking freezing, just checked igoogle, it's 12 degrees outside. Im freezing my ass off, and what better way to warm up than with KOREAN SOONDUBU TOFU STEW. With xppinkx's amazing recipe HERE

here's my take on it. To make this, i trawled my way around town looking for an asian mart that sells proper silken tofu because tesco's decided to not sell it. Amateurs.
I served mine with Kimchi, for the authentic korean feel =P

Revlon lashes REVIEW [1]

This post is so so soo overdue. Im so sorry. I've been ill AGAIN and busy with university stuff, its been so hectic. I'm actually on meds this week, antibiotics because my cough had turned serious, and was nearly at the chest infection phase. NOT FUN. =/

Anyhoo, onto today's agenda, I was contacted a while back from Janet Lai, a revlon rep who asked me to review some lash samples. I happily accepted. This fotd post is only one of the many lashes she sent. This one happens to be the 'defining' one out of the fantasy lengths series. It's also self adhesive, so you will NOT get lash glue with it. I've tried the ones in superdrug before, but because it was self adhesive, i tangled it up before i got it on my eye. haha. fail. So this is the second attempt and needless to say, I was pretty apprehensive. I expected to cut the lashes too, but to my happy surprise. LASHES THAT FIT WITHOUT CUTTING. saving my the hassle. 1 point to revlon. Furthermore, alot of people did mention they needed extra glue, and i guess it looks more clean, but it seemed to fit my eye perfectly. 2 points to revlon. Was it moveable, yes. 3 points to revlon. However i did find that the lash bone if pushed too much hurts the delicate eye area so i would refrain from doing so.

But overall, for the defining lashes of the revlon fantasy lengths series, it's a pretty good product, and i would consider to buy again. =D

oven roated tomatoes & seafood spaghetti

When i get bored, especially when im ill, i dream in food. I LOVE FOOD. =D

My recipe for oven-roasted tomatoes and seafood spaghetti is pretty simple. I actually used tagliatelle because im a frugal student and i feel i should use up the tagliatelle packet first! Also, we needed to use up the tomatoes because they were already going soft. I don't know if they're like strawberries, but once strawberries go soft [not mouldy], they have a more intense flavour, I don't know if it applies to tomatoes....oh, and this recipe serves one

ingredients:
-a handful of seafood [if you have more than one person, a few handfuls, I used the frozen kind]
-2 ripe tomatoes
-1 clove garlic
-olive oil
-spaghetti/tagliatelle/pasta
-herbs
-seasoning [salt/pepper]
-italian chilli oil

Method:

1. Line baking tray with foil, drizzle olive oil on, preheat oven to 170 degrees
2. Slice tomatoes, lay them on the olive oil
3. Bake tomatoes until shrivelled- around 10-15 minutes, i kinda eyeball it.
4. Meanwhile, defrost the seafood under running tap water, if frozen.
5. Take tomatoes out
6. Boil water and add salt to it, then add the spaghetti
7. Using a med. skillet pan, heat up olive oil on the pan until hot, and then add chopped garlic. Fry until fragrant NOT BURNT. add seafood, and cover the pan, stirring occasionally until it's fully cooked.
8. Add roasted tomatoes to pan and also chilli oil [optional-i didn't, my throat is killing me], season well, take off heat.
9. once spaghetti is aldente, drain and add to the pan and toss!

Drizzle with olive oil and cheese [optional]

tomatoes are roasting, filling my kitchen with a lovely italian smell =D

Anyhoo, sorry for not blogging, been busy partying it up at uni, as it is the first week [PARTY EVERYDAY!] well, every other day. I work hard too, I've been out all day doing and organising society stuffs like 4 hour meetings about what we need to accomplish for our social network. As some of you may know, i'm part of ABACUS [association of british and chinese univerisity students] I'm currently PR. =D So the past few days, i've rarely been in, abacus during the day and clubbing at night. AND NOW IM STUCK WITH THE FLUU... i guess it means my body has completely burned out, and lectures haven't even started.
